The Mykolaiv region generates significantly more electricity than it consumes, but due to problems in the unified energy system, residents also suffer and "disconnect like gentlemen," just like all other regions.

This was stated by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, during the "Novini.live" broadcast.

According to him, in addition to the three gigawatts produced by the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant, another gigawatt is generated by wind and solar energy, with up to 10% of what the region produces being utilized. However, Ukraine has a unified energy system, which means that residents across the entire country, including the Mykolaiv region, are affected.

- We always have generation, but we do not always have a distribution network, and we operate on the country's overall energy grid. So, we "disconnect like gentlemen," and we suffer just like all other regions. We do not have a problem with electricity; the issue lies in how severely the entire country's system suffers after shelling, - said Vitaliy Kim.
