Another outbreak of avian influenza has occurred in the Mykolaiv region: quarantine has been declared, and a disinfection barrier has been established.
In the Mykolaiv region, avian influenza has been detected in another village — as of November 24, quarantine has been declared in the village of Maryanivka in the Bashtanka district, which was previously under surveillance.
According to reports from the Main Directorate of the State Consumer Service in the Mykolaiv region, on November 6, the RNA of the H5N1 subtype of the avian influenza virus was found in birds at households in the village of Khrystoforivka in the Bashtanka district.
Signs reading "Quarantine" and "No Entry" have been placed at the entrance and exit of the infected area. Disinfection of the yards from which birds were removed has been carried out. A quarantine police checkpoint has been established, where vehicles are inspected to prevent the removal of live birds, carcasses, and poultry products from the infected zone. A disinfection barrier has been set up at the checkpoint for treating vehicle wheels and footwear.
The surveillance zone (observation area) encompasses a radius of 10 km from the infected area and includes the village of Maryanivka — inspections of birds have also been conducted there. According to the report on the results of the pathological (biological) material investigation from the Mykolaiv Regional State Laboratory of the State Consumer Service dated November 19, 2024, RNA of the avian influenza virus type A subtype H5 was detected in 25 samples of tracheal and cloacal swabs from birds.
The territory of the village of Maryanivka in the Inhul Territorial Community of the Bashtanka district in the Mykolaiv region has been declared unfavorable (infected zone) for avian influenza — quarantine has been in effect since November 24, 2024.
