Ukraine is developing a missile capable of reaching Moscow, according to media reports
Ukraine is actively advancing its missile industry amid the potential reduction of Western military aid. One of the key projects is the "Trembita" missile, as reported by The Economist.
Its engine is based on impulse technology, first utilized in the German V-1. In its basic version, "Trembita" achieves a speed of 400 km/h and a range of 200 km, while a more powerful version is expected to reach Moscow. The development took only a year and a half, and mass production will commence after field tests.
During the Soviet era, Ukraine was a leader in missile construction, but since 1994, the industry has declined due to disarmament, corruption, and Russian interference. Currently, programs are being revived, although details remain classified due to Russian attacks on manufacturing facilities, as seen with factories in Kyiv and Dnipro in 2023–2024.
