The Security Service and the National Police apprehended agents of Russian special services within a day, who were preparing a terrorist act in Mykolaiv on February 14 at the behest of Russia.

This information was reported by the SBU in Mykolaiv region, the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office, and the Mykolaiv police.

The SBU indicated that during the terrorist act, the occupiers used a resident of Poltava region to detonate explosives near a café in the center of Mykolaiv. As a result of the incident, the woman and three soldiers died on the spot, while seven others sustained injuries of varying severity.

The SBU's counterintelligence detained the accomplices of the crime "in hot pursuit." They turned out to be four minors from the Poltava district, aged between 14 and 17, who were recruited by the occupiers through Telegram channels seeking "easy money."

According to the instructions from Russian special services, the boys independently constructed an improvised explosive device (IED), concealed it in a backpack, and handed this "package" to a 42-year-old woman from a neighboring settlement.

In exchange for the promise of "quick earnings," the woman traveled from Russia to Mykolaiv to supposedly deliver a "bag of money" to a local resident.

The police clarified that the 42-year-old executor was told to collect a reward for delivering a "large sum of money" near a dining establishment in Mykolaiv.

The prosecutor's office specified that the woman, unaware that explosives were disguised in her possession, approached the parking area of the café where a group of Ukrainian soldiers was located. As soon as she got close to them, the occupiers remotely activated the IED by calling a mobile phone.

According to the available information from the SBU, the enemy had prearranged the elimination of their agent as an "unnecessary" witness to the terrorist act.

Meanwhile, the minors involved, after preparing and handing over the explosives, "went to ground" at their homes, where they awaited payments from the occupiers. They were subsequently detained by law enforcement. During searches, mobile phones containing evidence of contacts with the FSB, as well as components for making IEDs, were confiscated from them.

Currently, the four suspects have been informed of their suspicion under part 2 of article 28 and part 3 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act committed by a group of individuals in collusion, resulting in loss of life). The perpetrators are in custody. Despite their young age, they face life imprisonment.

The prosecutor's office clarified that for the committed crime, they face imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Additionally, a video recording has been published on social media, which allegedly captures the moment of yesterday’s explosion near the café in Mykolaiv.

Furthermore, on Friday, February 14, a man detonated a grenade, taking his own life in Mykolaiv.
