On Christmas Day, December 25, Russia launched over 70 missiles and 100 drones at Ukraine. More than 50 missiles and a significant portion of the drones were intercepted.
This information was shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Telegram.
"Today, Putin deliberately chose Christmas for the attack. What could be more inhumane? Over 70 missiles, including ballistic ones, and more than a hundred strike drones. The targets are our energy facilities. They continue to strive for a blackout in Ukraine," the president noted.
According to preliminary data, Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant number of drones that the Russians launched the previous evening.
The head of state reported that there have been hits in several regions, leading to power outages. Energy workers are actively working to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
"Thank you to everyone who is currently working for the country, those on combat duty, and those protecting our skies. We will restore as much as we can. Russian evil will not break Ukraine or mar Christmas," Zelensky emphasized.
