As of Monday, February 17, a "Point of Invincibility" has been established in Mykolaiv at the fire station on Kuznetska Street, along with a heating point at the municipal social services center. However, people have not yet sought assistance there.

According to RDPCH 2 DPRZ Deputy Chief Roman Khoroshev, a tent capable of accommodating around 50 individuals is set up at the fire station. Additionally, in case of a significant influx of people, firefighters can accommodate Mykolaiv residents inside the fire station itself.

- “The Point of Invincibility” has been open since October, and there were surges in attendance during the blackout periods, with many individuals utilizing both this location and the stationary “Point of Invincibility.” However, since the cold weather set in and considering recent issues with critical infrastructure, we have not had any visitors. Now that our “Point of Invincibility” is open, if Mykolaiv residents reach out to us, all we need to be ready is to turn on the lights, bring in water—which we don’t leave here to avoid stagnation—and we also provide thermoses. The point operates around the clock, and the police often bring in homeless individuals, but we clarify to them that this is not a heating point but a “Point of Invincibility,” - stated Roman Alekseevich.

Moreover, the rescuer mentioned that the point is heated by a "heat gun," which blows warm air directly into the tent, allowing for temperature regulation. According to him, it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to warm up the tent. When there were many people, Roman Khoroshev noted that it even got hot inside, prompting some to request the heater be turned off. Additionally, there is electricity available at the point, equipped with a generator, allowing it to operate independently from the main department.

- The unit is powered even during a blackout when the lights go out. We have a stationary generator that is sufficient. During power outages, around 40 people were seated in the tent, and about 20 were in the building—there were no disruptions, - Roman Alekseevich shared.

Our correspondent also visited the heating point located at the municipal social services center in the Zavodskyi district on Kuznetska Street in Mykolaiv, where a "Point of Invincibility" can be opened if necessary. Vera Alekseevna Bevz, the head of the social assistance department, reported that as of Monday morning, they had not received any orders to set up a "Point of Invincibility." However, their heating point operates continuously. Currently, residents of Mykolaiv have not sought assistance.

- No one has come to us during this time. In general, when a similar situation arose last year, people did come. We quickly boiled water for tea and prepared puree; they don’t manage things themselves, someone is always present with them, - Vera Alekseevna explained.

She also noted that last year, during power outages, they received up to 60-70 people a day at the "Point of Invincibility."

- There were always people. Some came to charge their devices, others sat down to drink tea, and many prepared puree. Now, there was no electricity in the morning, but it was restored later. Everything was under control yesterday. Our security is on duty around the clock during weekends, but no one has reached out, - Vera Alekseevna concluded.

Earlier reports indicated that on the night of February 16, Mykolaiv was attacked by Shahed-type drones.

As a result of the attack, there were damages at a critical infrastructure facility, leading to a fire. Additionally, five apartment buildings were damaged due to falling debris and shockwaves.

As a result of the attack, a 64-year-old man was injured and was hospitalized. His condition is currently stable.

In the city center, a Shahed exploded on the roadway, damaging offices and shops.

Moreover, in Mykolaiv, residential buildings were damaged and a store was completely destroyed after the explosion, leaving part of the city without heating.
