Mykolaiv region is on the verge of a flu epidemic: the rates are 9% below the epidemic threshold

As of the seventh week of 2025 (February 10–16, 2025), the incidence of ARVI, including COVID-19, in Mykolaiv region stands at 401.6 per 100,000 population (4,795 people fell ill during the week, including 26 cases of COVID-19), which is 9.4% higher than the figures from the week before last. Among children, there was an increase of 1.9% (2,783 cases compared to 2,730 cases the week before last), while among adults, the increase was 21.2%.

This information was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

The proportion of sick children accounted for 58.0%.

Across Ukraine, the incidence of flu and ARVI at the end of the week before last (the 6th week) is approaching the epidemic threshold (-1.73%), with some regions registering an exceedance of the epidemic threshold at average levels (Transcarpathian, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi regions) and low levels (Volyn).

In Mykolaiv region, the incidence is 9.0% below the epidemic threshold.

An exceedance of the epidemic threshold by 27.8% (low level) was recorded in the Voznesensk district (due to the South Ukrainian and Voznesensk urban territorial communities).

In other districts and Mykolaiv, the figures are as follows:

-Bashtanka district – incidence is 52.9% below the epidemic threshold;

-Mykolaiv district – 8.6% below;

-Pervomaisk district – 15.2% below;

-City of Mykolaiv – 1.7 times lower.

During the past week, 196 people were hospitalized with flu and ARVI, including 1 case of COVID-19.

No fatalities due to the flu have been recorded.
