At the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, 500,000 tons of bauxite have been seized.
According to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), "new" assets belonging to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska have been confiscated in Ukraine, amounting to over 2 billion hryvnias.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
"Based on the materials from the Security Service of Ukraine, the court has imposed a seizure on a large batch of industrial products and raw materials owned by the sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska," the statement reads.
The seizure involves nearly 500,000 tons of bauxite and alumina produced in Ukraine prior to the full-scale invasion. These materials were stored at the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant, which was previously owned by a Russian national.
"The total value of the seized assets exceeds 2.11 billion UAH," the SBU added.
This product was a key component for aluminum production at Oleg Deripaska's Russian plant "Rusal." According to case materials, the seized bauxite and alumina belonged to the oligarch through a controlled commercial entity registered in one of the EU countries.
This company was the formal customer of the Mykolaiv plant's products for subsequent re-export to Deripaska’s enterprises in Russia.
In early 2023, Ukrainian law enforcement uncovered the transaction and blocked the shipment of this raw material.
