In Mykolaiv region, a man threw a grenade into the yard of a residential building.

In the village of Veselinovo, a 52-year-old local resident reported to the police that an unknown individual threw an object into his yard, which exploded and damaged his tractor.

This information was reported by the communications department of the Mykolaiv region police.

At the scene, police found fragments of an explosive device and a grenade pin, which were sent for examination.

As a result of investigative actions, law enforcement identified the suspect. He turned out to be a 41-year-old local man with a prior criminal record for offenses related to drug trafficking.

Police officers, with the support of the special unit "KORD," apprehended the man under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During searches at his home, 20 cartridges for automatic weapons, three artillery shell detonators, and approximately 500 grams of dried cannabis were discovered. All seized items have been sent for examination.

Under the procedural guidance of the Voznesensk District Prosecutor's Office, the suspect has been charged with the following articles:

• Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional damage to property;
• Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal handling of weapons and ammunition.

Additionally, the possibility of further charges under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – illegal possession of narcotic substances without intent to sell – is being considered.

The suspect faces up to 10 years in prison.
