The Mayor of Mykolaiv has issued an order to restrict the use of Telegram
The Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, has signed an order titled “On the Restriction of Using the Telegram Messenger in the Work of Executive Bodies, Enterprises, Institutions, and Organizations of the Mykolaiv City Council.”
The relevant document was published on the city council's website on November 4.
According to the text of the order, in order to minimize cyber threats, the installation and use of the Telegram messenger on official devices (computers, laptops, tablets, phones, etc.) used by the executive bodies, enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the Mykolaiv City Council is prohibited.
The mayor has also ordered that officials and employees of the executive bodies, enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the Mykolaiv City Council are forbidden from using the Telegram messenger for communication purposes related to their official duties.
However, the messenger can still be used to report on the activities of the executive authorities. A list of officials who may continue to use Telegram for this purpose must be submitted to the standardization department.
Additionally, this same department is required to implement technical measures aimed at restricting the ability to install and use this messenger.
