On the night of January 29 to 30, Russian occupation forces launched strike drones over Ukrainian territory, resulting in one of them hitting an apartment building in Sumy. This was reported by the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar.

"Another 'Shahed' hit an apartment building. Walls are torn apart. A woman is screaming 'help!'. An ambulance is on-site, and emergency services are also working," noted Kobzar.

He also released a video showing the aftermath of the Russian attack, depicting the destruction caused by the 'Shahed' strike.

Subsequently, the strike on the multi-story building was confirmed by the Sumy regional military administration.

"As a result of the attack, preliminarily one person has died. The rescue operation is ongoing, and information is being clarified," stated the Sumy regional administration.

They also emphasized that all relevant services are working at the site of the impact.

Already after midnight, the Sumy city council reported that besides the deceased, there was information about one injured person.

"The impact occurred in a residential building. All services are working at the scene. According to the health department, one person is known to have died and one is injured," the statement said.

Half an hour later, the city council refuted the information regarding the death of a person.

"The information about a person's death has not been confirmed, but there are four injured, including a 7-year-old child and an 18-year-old young man (who is in serious condition)," stated the Sumy city council.

It is worth noting that around 11:00 PM, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that new groups of 'Shaheds' had appeared in the Sumy region.

Recall that on the evening of January 28, the Russian Armed Forces struck Mykolaiv with ballistic missiles, resulting in the deaths of two women.

On the night of January 24 to 25, the Russian Armed Forces launched 'Shaheds' over Ukrainian territory, which caused destruction to a 9-story building in the Kyiv region.
