The Russian Armed Forces are continuing to assault the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Pokrovsk direction, where over a third of all combat encounters along the front line occurred within a day. The RF Armed Forces are attacking in 14 populated areas in this sector, particularly near Novoukrainka, Pyschany, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Nadiyivka, Yaseneve, and others. Over the course of the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to repel 36 enemy assaults, with 8 of them still ongoing. This was reported in the summary from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the evening of February 17.
The report states that the enemy attacked populated areas in the Pokrovsk direction 44 times within the day. The General Staff also provided information about the number of repelled assaults.
"Our defenders repelled 36 assaults, and eight clashes are still ongoing," the General Staff reports.
The RF Armed Forces continue to exert pressure in this direction, where they recently occupied a settlement — the village of Serebryane in the Pokrovsk district. Analysts from the DeepState project reported this on February 17.
At the same time, Ukrainian troops are resisting the enemy in this area. According to the General Staff, they managed to eliminate 325 invaders over the course of the day, with 163 of them being irreversible losses.
Ukrainian forces also successfully neutralized Russian military equipment in this direction. Over the past day, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to destroy at least two vehicles, three artillery systems, and two UAV control antennas.
Among the destroyed equipment of the RF army is the heavy flamethrower system "TOS-2" ("Tosochka"). This is a modernized version of the heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1 "Buratino" and TOS-1A "Solntsepek." Earlier, "Militarny" reported that this destruction marks the first recorded loss of such a system for the Russian army.
Additionally, throughout the day, the enemy continued to assault the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Lyman, Severodonetsk, Kramatorsk, Orikhiv, and other directions, as reported by the General Staff.
