Kernel is dedicated to supporting specific brigades of the Ground Forces – the 93rd, 72nd, and 95th. In addition to basic needs such as thermal imaging devices and vehicles, the company procures high-tech equipment – various types of UAVs, communication tools, and electronic warfare devices, as well as equipment for headquarters necessary for operational planning. Kernel maintains constant communication with support units to promptly address requests, as every minute on the front lines can cost lives.
The company has been supporting the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Cold Yar" since the early months of the full-scale war. Over the past three years, Kernel representatives have periodically visited defenders in various sectors to deliver assistance and provide personal support.
Recently, the new commander of the Cold Yar brigade, Shamil Krutkov, visited the Kernel office to discuss collaboration and the brigade's current needs. Shamil holds the Order "For Military Service to Ukraine," received the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi of the 3rd degree in 2022, and in November 2024, he was appointed commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, succeeding Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavlo Palisa, who became the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
"The support we receive from Kernel helps us develop specific technical solutions and implement them in combat operations. For example, this could involve new technical equipment for better communication. We are grateful for the prompt provision of specific items and devices that aid our technical development, help eliminate the enemy, and, most importantly, preserve the lives and health of our soldiers," – shared the brigade commander of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
The brigade has a 25-year combat history – from peacekeeping missions to the war with the Russian Federation. The "Cold Yar" unit is named after a historical region in the Dnipro Ukraine, renowned for its warriors. This area was the center of the Haidamaka movement, where the Koliyivshchyna began, and the Cossacks of the Cold Yar Republic fought against the Bolsheviks during the liberation struggles of the early 20th century. Today, the 93rd Brigade continues this fight. In March 2014, it was one of the first to defend Ukraine's borders in Luhansk. The Cold Yar fighters, alongside other units, defended Donetsk Airport, participated in battles near Ilovaisk, and liberated Pisky and Avdiivka.
The full-scale invasion was met by the units in Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The Cold Yar fighters fought for Okhtyrka and destroyed a column of Russian equipment near Kharkiv. They distinguished themselves with their heroic defense of Bakhmut, Soledar, and the surrounding areas. Today, it is one of the largest mechanized brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, equipped with modern weaponry, experienced command, and a strong patronage service.
Over three years of collaboration, the company and defenders have become more than just partners in protecting the country. The war continues, and support is needed not only at the front but also for those soldiers who have been hospitalized with injuries. Therefore, Kernel initiated a corporate volunteering project – the company's employees visit the wounded in hospitals across Ukraine.
"Together with representatives of the 93rd Brigade, we visit wounded soldiers. To support them, thank them for their courage and work, and hear their stories, each one is unique," – shares Serhiy Zhdamarov, head of Kernel's regional office in Dnipro and one of the most active volunteers of the project.
Almost 400 such meetings have already taken place in 12 regions of Ukraine. Volunteers deliver support packages to the brigade defenders, including adaptive clothing, underwear, hygiene products, vitamins, treats, books, board games, letters, and drawings from children. The company believes that psychological support for soldiers is just as important as material aid. Sometimes, attention, a friendly conversation, and care contribute to recovery more than medicine or supplies. Therefore, sometimes you just need to be there to express gratitude to the soldiers for their protection.
Thanks to support from organizations like Kernel, Ukrainian military personnel receive not only essential equipment and materials but also moral support, which is a crucial factor during wartime. Every contribution, every bit of assistance brings us closer to peace. Business, like volunteers, is becoming part of the great force that supports Ukraine today.
