A group of deputies has registered a resolution in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the dismissal of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, from his position. This information can be found out on the parliament's website.
Among the initiators is Inna Sovsun, a member of the Ukrainian parliament from the "Holos" political party, who chairs the subcommittee on adapting Ukrainian legislation to the provisions of European Union law (acquis EU) and fulfilling Ukraine's international legal obligations in the field of European integration within the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services. Another initiator is a deputy from the "Holos" party, who chairs the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for investigating possible illegal actions by officials of state authorities. The project is currently under consideration by the leadership, but the document itself is not available on the website.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak reminded that the reasons for this decision include:
According to the deputy, the project is planned to be reviewed in the relevant committee before being discussed in the session hall.
The procedure for the dismissal of the head of the department began on January 10. At that time, Yaroslav Zheleznyak cited the "big nuclear construction" scheme, failed work to protect energy infrastructure, and "absolute loss of any reputation among partners" as reasons for this decision. The deputy noted that the "behavior of the minister during the hour of questions to the government" is absolutely unacceptable.
It later became known that Herman Halushchenko, while commenting on the European Commission's position regarding the completion of the energy units at the Khmelnytsky NPP, allegedly used the term "mid-level clerk" in reference to EU Ambassador Katerina Maternova. Additionally, the Minister of Energy had a conflict with deputy Inna Sovsun from the "Holos" faction.
