Ukrainian men abroad are once again receiving passports: discover how many citizens have already obtained their documents.

As of February 17, Ukrainian male citizens aged 18 to 60 who are abroad have begun receiving their Ukrainian citizenship passports and international passports. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

On the first day of resuming this service, approximately 1,700 international passports and over 400 internal passports were issued. This became possible after the government streamlined the document issuance process for citizens who have left the country.

The service is available for those who submitted their passport applications by April 25, 2024, through the state enterprise "Document." At the same time, according to Ukrainian Law No. 3633-IX, which came into effect on April 11, 2024, men aged 18-60 must possess military registration documents to obtain a passport.

The First Deputy Chairperson of the State Migration Service, Irina Kovalevskaya, noted that citizens whose documents have already been processed receive an SMS notification indicating the time and place for collection. On the designated day, they can pick up their passports at the passport service.

It is important to remember that the State Migration Service forwards information about Ukrainian male citizens aged 25-60 to the Ministry of Defense. Men aged 18-25 who submitted passport applications abroad will be automatically registered for military service without undergoing a military medical commission.

On February 14, Interior Minister Igor Klymenko announced that the government had resolved the issue of passport issuance for Ukrainians who are abroad.
