During the shelling by the Russian Federation on the night and morning of November 28, Naftogaz came under fire, and targets were hit related to Ukraine's oil and gas infrastructure. Starting from spring 2024, Russian forces have intensified their strikes on facilities associated with gas transportation and storage. Details of the Russian shelling were shared on the Facebook page of the NAK "Naftogaz of Ukraine".

The message on the Naftogaz page appeared around noon, four hours after the conclusion of the Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine. The text succinctly states that the Russian Federation struck facilities owned by the company. Repair crews arrived at the site of the attack to restore the damaged equipment, according to the report. No individuals were harmed in the Russian attack. Additionally, it was noted that the strike on November 28 "will not affect the provision of services to Ukrainian consumers and clients".

On the company's social media, information can be found about previous Russian strikes on infrastructure. Specifically, Russians targeted Naftogaz twice in March (on March 22 and 24) and in April (on April 11 and April 27) 2024. On March 24, all Russian missiles were directed at targets in western Ukraine, reported CEO of Naftogaz Oleksiy Chernyshov on Facebook. During one of the subsequent strikes on April 11, the missile trajectory map indicated a single point in Lviv region where they were headed. The command report stated that the Russians used both "Kinzhal" and X-101 missiles, as well as "Shahed" drones.

Meanwhile, the publication "Economic Truth" spoke with a company representative in September 2024. The employee confirmed the shelling of Naftogaz and stated that storage facilities and other sites have been suffering from Russian strikes since the first days of the invasion. These attacks have particularly intensified in spring 2024: they were described as "concentrated". Furthermore, journalists discovered a report from the Russian Ministry of Defense dated August 26, in which the Russians reported strikes on gas compressor stations in three regions — Kharkiv, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. However, the publication notes that, for instance, 11 storage facilities, which can collectively hold up to 31 billion cubic meters of gas, are located at depths ranging from 400 meters to 2 kilometers, making them out of reach for Russian missiles.

It should be noted that the Air Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not directly report the shelling of Naftogaz in its report dated November 28 regarding the Russian missile strike. The report indicated that the Russians launched 188 munitions, including "Kalibr" cruise missiles and X-101s; 76 out of 85 missiles were intercepted. Explosions occurred in several regions of Ukraine, including Lviv region, as well as in Rivne and Volyn. Specifically, during the air attack, the command warned about at least two missiles heading towards Stryi, and in the morning, the head of the Drohobych Military Administration reported damage to an energy facility.

We remind you that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the characteristics of the missiles with which the RF struck Ukraine on November 28.
