On Tuesday, December 10, many regions of Ukraine are experiencing snow and rain. However, starting from December 13, the situation will begin to change due to an anticyclone. Sunshine is also expected to appear. At the same time, a drop in temperature will accompany it. The weather forecast was shared by Natalka Didenko.

The anticyclone will bring arctic air, resulting in a temperature decrease. From Friday, December 13, daytime temperatures will drop to -3...-7°C, while at night thermometers will indicate -6...-12°C, with areas in the north reaching up to -14°C.

Didenko noted that this change in weather will not be long-lasting — the cold snap will last only two days, and by December 15, meteorologists predict a return of warmer weather.

Weather in Ukraine for the week

According to Didenko, on December 11, humid and cloudy weather will prevail in Ukraine, influenced by a cyclone and atmospheric fronts. Precipitation in the form of wet snow and rain is expected across almost the entire country. In the west and north, there may be wet snow accumulation and icy conditions. Due to cloud cover and rain, visibility will remain low, so drivers should exercise extra caution.

Day and night temperatures will hover around zero. It will be warmer in the southern regions: during the day +4...+9°C, and up to +12°C in Crimea. In Kyiv, rain mixed with wet snow will fall throughout the day, keeping thermometers close to 0°C.

On December 12, precipitation will decrease, and air temperatures will gradually begin to drop. In the following days, December 13-14, a noticeable cold snap is expected in most regions of the country as arctic air arrives, bringing temperatures down to moderate frosts.

Although the cold spell will be brief and warmer weather is set to return by December 15, it’s advisable to prepare warm clothing in advance to avoid being caught off guard by the frost, Didenko recommends.

As a reminder, in December, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center reported the beginning of meteorological winter in Kyiv.
