Simonyan comments on Russia's negotiations with Trump, suggesting they may agree to end the war. Watch the video for more insights.

Russian forces may indeed fail to reach Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Odessa, acknowledged Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan. She stated that an end to the war in Ukraine could be achieved based on the lines of demarcation at the time negotiations between the U.S. and Russia commenced.

Russia is willing to negotiate with U.S. President Donald Trump under the conditions previously stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin. First and foremost, the world must acknowledge that the territories of Ukraine occupied by Russia remain under Kremlin control. The other demands are similar and aimed at undermining Ukraine's state sovereignty. The possibility of ending the war is mentioned in a segment of an interview with Kremlin propagandist and head of the Russia Today channel, Margarita Simonyan, which has surfaced online.

Simonyan gave an interview to Russian Z-blogger Manucharov. Fragments of their conversation can be found on social media platform X (Twitter). The Kremlin propagandist suggested that a meeting between Putin and Trump could occur after the war concludes, emphasizing the occupied territories of Ukraine. According to her, a potential condition is that hostilities must cease along the existing front line, and the areas seized by Russia would remain under the control of the occupiers. A buffer zone would be established between the forces, she stated.

"The territories that are ours at the moment these negotiations begin are ours. Everything on this side of the contact line is all ours. Then a buffer zone will be created, as is often the case in conflict zones," she can be heard saying in the video.

Additionally, Simonyan explained the rationale behind such demands, noting that these territories have been incorporated into Russia's constitution. She suggested that Moscow might have to relinquish its occupation of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, and it is unlikely they will reach Kharkiv and Odesa. Conversely, if Odesa is occupied by the time negotiations take place, Ukraine will have to come to terms with such realities, she remarked.

Other demands were also voiced. According to Simonyan, there must be "some guarantees that Ukraine will not take aggressive actions against Russia." Furthermore, Russia intends to continue protecting the Russian-speaking population, which she claims is being "oppressed" by Ukrainians. On the other hand, Moscow currently does not plan to establish military bases in the rest of Ukraine, reassured Margarita.

"[There should be] some guarantees that Ukraine will not take aggressive actions against Russia and will not oppress the Russian-speaking population — what we refer to as denazification. Many of our people remain there in such a scenario," stated the Kremlin representative.

The press secretary for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, has yet to comment on Simonyan's statements or clarify whether her words represent the official position of the Kremlin.

Details on Ending the War

It is worth noting that Simonyan's assumptions about the conditions for ending the war are no different from the statements made by President Vladimir Putin: they have not changed since the early days of the invasion. Meanwhile, in the new U.S. administration, similar sentiments are being expressed: Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine suggests accepting the occupation of territories. At the same time, U.S. conditions differ somewhat: Americans propose providing maximum weaponry to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to ensure safety from further attacks by Russian forces.

We remind you that on January 12, Swiss politicians announced their readiness to host Trump and Putin for negotiations on ending the war.
