People's Deputy from "Servant of the People" Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk stated that she supports fines for city leaders due to their failure to meet mobilization plans. The parliamentarian explained her position in a comment to "Novyny.LIVE".
Vasylevska-Smahliuk, who was elected from the 96th single-member district in the Kyiv region, noted that some heads of local self-government in the de-occupied areas are not facilitating mobilization. At the same time, they should understand what it means when the occupiers come into your home.
The deputy mentioned that she does not see much willingness to adhere to Article 18 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization," which defines the role of local self-government bodies as primary in assisting and organizing mobilization activities.
"They all 'freeze' on one side, while on the other — they cover for their acquaintances and employees," the parliamentarian believes.
According to Vasylevska-Smahliuk, heads of regional state administrations "try" to fulfill the mobilization plan. However, local self-government bodies "do not try."
"They play on the feelings of voters and even sometimes get involved in conflicts between the RTC and the citizen, siding with the citizen who throws stones at representatives of the RTC, etc.," the deputy explained.
As a reminder, on January 28, the mayor of Drohobych Taras Kuchma received a fine of 36,000 hryvnias for failing to fulfill mobilization plans. He stated that he does not have the authority of the TCK and will appeal the decision in court. Similar penalties were also imposed on the mayors of Boryslav, Truskavets, Skhodnytsia, and Medenychi in Lviv region.
