In Kyiv, former head of the Odesa Regional Military Commissariat, Yevhen Borisov, was arrested. He gained notoriety for his illegal enrichment during the war. He was preparing to flee abroad and had already created fake documents. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.
It was noted that the Bureau's employees detained the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC and SP in Kyiv after a bail of 39.364 million hryvnias was posted for him.
Law enforcement obtained information that after his release from pre-trial detention, Borisov planned to evade the investigation, particularly by escaping from Ukraine.
He arranged for himself the documentation of a non-combat injury allegedly sustained while defending the homeland.
Additionally, it was established that based on a false decision from an official audit and the corresponding conclusion from the Medical-Social Expert Commission, the military commissioner was unjustly awarded an additional payment totaling 165,480 UAH for the period from April to June 2022. He has now been notified of the suspicion against him.
The Bureau stated that within the framework of another criminal case, the court transferred the management of the military commissioner's house and office in the Spanish resort of Marbella to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA). The property belonged to his mother and wife.
The court also transferred the military commissioner's luxury vehicles to ARMA. These vehicles were owned by his wife, mother, and mother-in-law.
It is worth recalling that the former head of the Odesa Regional TCC, Yevhen Borisov, while in pre-trial detention, attempted to secure a disability status in order to evade criminal responsibility.
On July 22, 2023, the Bureau announced the suspicion against the head of the Odesa Regional TCC for illegal enrichment amounting to hundreds of millions and evasion of service.
