A former Naftogaz official who fled to Canada is fueling artificial panic over gas shortages, claims a political analyst.

Behind the speculation and attempts to mislead the public about the availability of natural gas for the heating season is former head of the Gas Transmission System Operator, Sergey Makogon, who fled to Canada during the war in 2022. This was reported by political scientist and military personnel Kirill Sazonov, as conveyed by UNIAN.

"I read the news that we have a gas crisis. Allegedly, there is no gas, and everything has disappeared. Tomorrow we will face cutoffs. An uproar.

And here's what we need to know about these fabrications: they are orchestrated by former Naftogaz official Sergey Makogon, who has escaped to Canada. From his safe distance of 9000 km away from Ukraine, he spins these tales about 'Ukrainians freezing,' — the political scientist emphasized.

According to him, Makogon is trying to artificially incite panic to serve his own interests.

"So before you start worrying about gas for your stoves, remember that all these absurdities are concocted by a former official who booked himself a 'business trip' during the war and fled to Canada, leaving behind a trail of criminal cases," — the political scientist highlighted.
