Starting from March 1, Ukrainian pensioners can begin receiving an increased pension. The increase will range from 200 to 1000 hryvnias, with some pensioners potentially receiving an additional 1500 UAH. This is reported by Facts.

As noted by the publication, pension indexing will take place on March 1, 2025. Although the exact amount of the indexing is unknown, it is expected to be no less than 10% — meaning the pension will increase by 10% of the current amount the pensioner is receiving.

In addition, pensioners can expect an additional amount ranging from 300 to 500 hryvnias.

Conditions for Pension Increase Starting March 1

The increase of 1500 hryvnias will occur if the pensioner receives pension payments of at least 10,000 hryvnias, which allows for an indexing of 1000 hryvnias;

Additionally, if a pensioner turns 80 in March, they will be entitled to an age supplement of 500 hryvnias.

For instance, if a pensioner’s pension is 10,000 hryvnias and they turn 80 on March 5, while the pension payment date is March 7, they will be able to receive 11,500 hryvnias on that day. If they have a pension of 11,000 hryvnias and turn 70 or 75 in March, they will receive an additional 300 and 400 UAH, respectively, on top of their 11,000 UAH pension.

If the pension payment date in March is before they turn 70, 75, or 80 years old, the age supplement will only be received in the following month.

It is worth noting that on January 31, it was reported that in Ukraine, the highest pension was awarded to former MP "regional" Serhiy Kivalov. He receives about 246,000 UAH monthly.

It was also reported that starting January 2025, new conditions for retirement at age will come into effect in Ukraine. According to the law "On Mandatory State Pension Insurance," to retire at 60, a person must have earned 32 years of service.
