"If anything were to happen to me": The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk has entrusted his duties to the secretary.

Martsinkiv shared that he occasionally visits the front lines and has found himself in life-threatening situations twice. As a result, he decided that he needed to entrust the city to reliable hands for such circumstances.
"Если со мной что-то произойдет": мэр Ивано-Франковска "передал" свои полномочия секретарю.

The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsynkiv, has instructed the secretary of the city council to lead the city if anything were to happen to him. He shared this information on his social media.

"I just want to say: I have never bowed to anyone. Those who have their own opinion are not liked! Therefore, if something were to happen to me (physically or otherwise), know that I trust the secretary of the city council, Viktor Sinishin. He is an honest and responsible person who, according to the law, has the right to fulfill the duties of managing the community," — he wrote.

He did not specify the reasons that prompted such a publication, but his message caused concern among the residents, leading them to speculate that there are plans to "remove" Martsynkiv.

Due to the stir his message created, the mayor of Frankivsk later felt compelled to clarify what he meant.

"We live in wartime. From time to time, I travel to see the guys. I see daily how fallen soldiers are transported. During my trips, I have been in situations twice where it could have ended fatally. We also see what is happening with local self-government. There are facts from other regions. We observe the situation in Lviv, where city heads are being fined for mobilization. I see the situation with the mayors of Kyiv and Uzhhorod. Additionally, we are aware of the situation with Iryna Faryon. Therefore, I understand that during times of danger, anything can happen. I am not eternal," — he said.

He noted that he could be mistaken and emphasized the importance of preserving local self-government.

"Everything is fine, our team is working. I have never made rash decisions. But I felt it necessary to mention this," — said Martsynkiv.

It should be noted that in the Lviv region, actions have been taken against city heads who allegedly disrupt plans for the mobilization of citizens. After the mayor of Drohobych, the mayor of Boryslav, Ihor Yavorsky, received a protocol for failing to meet the mobilization plan.
