An anticyclone is expected to bring headaches and temperatures dropping to -10°C: what will the weather be like this weekend?

This weekend, temperatures in Ukraine will drop due to the influence of an anticyclone that has arrived in the country. It will bring sunny weather during the day and frosty conditions at night. Meteorologist Natalia Didenko warned about this on social media.

"The anticyclone is exerting pressure, atmospheric pressure is rising, so no precipitation is expected in Ukraine. People may experience headaches due to high atmospheric pressure; however, there will be more sunshine and increasing clear skies. These clear skies will, however, intensify the frost at night, but during the day, temperatures will rise nearly to zero," she noted.

According to her forecast, on the night of Saturday and Sunday, February 8 and 9, temperatures in Ukraine are expected to range from -4 to -10 degrees Celsius, while during the day on Saturday and Sunday, air temperatures will fluctuate around zero, with colder conditions in the eastern regions, reaching -1 to -4 degrees.

Winds on Saturday and Sunday will be from the east, moderate, with possible stormy gusts in the south, particularly in the Azov region, as well as in Volyn and Rivne regions tomorrow, reaching 15-20 meters per second.

Weather in Kyiv for the Weekend

According to Natalia Didenko's forecast, an anticyclonic weather pattern will prevail in Kyiv on February 8 and 9. It will be dry and sunny, but with nighttime frosts down to -7 to -10 degrees. During the day, temperatures are expected to be around 0 to 2 degrees with a "minus" mark.

Next week, it is expected that the weather will not change significantly—the anticyclone will continue to dominate the territory of Ukraine. No precipitation is anticipated, with cool days and frosty nights.

Recall that the "Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center" previously reported that a new wave of cold weather will arrive in Ukraine. The next week will start with dry and frosty conditions.
