Nikolaev Parks has lodged a complaint against the barbaric tree trimming by the regional energy company; the eco-inspection will take appropriate action.

An inspection was conducted to assess the trees that were severely pruned on Okeanovska Street in the Ship District of Mykolaiv.

This information is reported by the State Ecological Inspection of the Southwestern District.

They noted that, according to media reports, the work was carried out by employees of JSC "Mykolaivoblenergo". Consequently, a request has been sent to the company to clarify the situation and take further responsive measures.

“The size of protective zones along overhead power lines is determined by parallel lines on both sides of the wires at a distance of 2.0 to 40.0 meters, depending on the voltage,” they wrote.

They also added that the responsibility for the preservation of green spaces and their proper maintenance at sites of state or communal property lies with the custodians of these properties.

It is worth noting that this year a scandal erupted over the pruning of plane trees by employees of KP "Mykolaiv Parks" on Soborna Street.
