As of January 6, a magnetic storm with a K-index of 5 is recorded. By January 6, it will weaken to a K-index of 4, and in the following days, it will become negligible.

It is worth noting that the planetary K-index is used by specialists to indicate the intensity of magnetic storms. Geomagnetic activity is measured on a scale from 0 to 9.

All storms classified above a K-index of 5 are considered red-level storms. They can disrupt satellite operations, GPRS, mobile communication, and the functioning of power grids.
