The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that he is prepared to negotiate with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. However, this is contingent upon one condition.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine, he made this statement in an interview with Piers Morgan.
During the interview, Zelensky was asked whether he could sit at the same table with Putin if a potential peace process involving four groups were to commence.
Zelensky indicated that he would be open to this if it were the only option to bring peace to the citizens of Ukraine without losing lives.
"Certainly, we would pursue this option, meeting with these four participants. What difference does it make how I feel about him? I won't be kind to him and I consider him an enemy. Frankly, I believe he sees me as an enemy too. That's how it is," he said.
The topic of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia has once again sparked intense discussion.
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump has been having "very serious talks" with Russia regarding the end of the war in Ukraine.
However, according to Zelensky, excluding Ukraine from U.S.-Russia negotiations to end the war would be "very dangerous." Kyiv and Washington should continue talks to devise a ceasefire plan.
He also mentioned that it remains unclear whether Europe will participate in negotiations to end the war with Russia.
