Zelensky has imposed new sanctions via the National Security and Defense Council, targeting Boyko, Shufrich, Kryukov, and Murayev.

Eighteen individuals from Ukraine and Russia, including journalists, former officials, and politicians, have been subjected to new sanctions. They will lose their state awards and face economic restrictions.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, announced that he has signed a decree to implement the National Security and Defense Council's decision on sanctions. This is stated in the text of the decree published on the official website.

"I have just signed a decree that empowers the NSDC's decision on sanctions. We are blocking propagandists working for Russia, individuals who have sided with the enemy, and those who assist Russia in continuing the war. Additionally, we continue to strip state awards — the title of Hero of Ukraine is reserved for those who truly dedicate their lives to Ukraine," Zelensky stated.

According to the head of state, new sanction measures are currently being prepared and will be announced soon.

According to the annex in the decree of the Head of State No. 38/2025, sanctions have been imposed against current members of parliament Yuriy Boyko and Nestor Shufrych. They will be stripped of state awards and face special economic restrictions and blockages.

The new restrictions also apply to former members of parliament of Ukraine, Yevhen Murayev and Petro Symonenko.

The sanctions also affect journalist and deputy editor of the publication "Strana.Ua," Svitlana Kryukova. In addition to the aforementioned restrictions, the NSDC's decision includes blocking internet service providers from accessing web resources/services hosted on domains and subdomains owned by the publication.

New restrictions also target Russian artists and performers Ilya Reznik, Vadim Pisarev, Vasily Gerello, and Yuri Bashmet, as well as Ukrainian choir conductor Ruzhena Rubleva. The sanctions list also includes the names of Russian politician and chess player Sergey Karyakin, businessman Konstantin Grigoryshin, and others.

It later became known that Trump’s team is preparing a plan for oil sanctions against the Russian Federation. One of the approaches being considered by Trump involves easing restrictions on sanctioned Russian oil producers if the new White House administration believes that the outbreak of war in Ukraine is imminent.
