Зеленский поблагодарил США за новые санкции против нефтегазового сектора России.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the United States for the new comprehensive sanctions announced today against Russia's oil and gas industry.

"These measures significantly undermine the financial foundation of the Russian military machine by disrupting the supply chain: key Russian producers, insurance companies, service providers in the oil and gas sector, 184 shadow fleet tankers, logistical facilities, and third-party companies," Zelensky wrote.

"It is particularly important to highlight the pressure on companies such as 'Surgutneftegas' – a key financial wallet for Putin himself," Zelensky continued. "Such actions send a clear message: criminals must pay for their crimes. The less revenue Russia receives from oil and other energy resources, the sooner peace will be restored."

Energy resources should not be used as weapons, as Russia does, he emphasized.

'Surgutneftegas' is known for accumulating currency for nearly ten years, amassing almost 6 trillion rubles (around $59 billion).

After some time, Zelensky also separately thanked the United Kingdom, which, following the U.S., imposed sanctions on two major Russian oil extraction companies: 'Surgutneftegas' and 'Gazprom Neft' on Friday.
