The High Anti-Corruption Court has announced a verdict concerning the former chairman of the board of PrJSC "Energy Network" and former member of parliament, Dmytro Kryuchkov, in the case of his organization of the misappropriation of funds from the companies PJSC "Cherkasyoblenergo" and PJSC "Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo."

This was reported by the press service of the SAP and the Center for Combating Corruption.

Kryuchkov was sentenced to 15 years in prison with the confiscation of all property, as well as a three-year ban on holding certain positions. The former MP is currently abroad—he left at the beginning of 2024 as a father of many children. He participated in the hearings via video link and stated that he has the right to permanent residence in Monaco, as noted by the CC.

The court also made a ruling regarding the former acting chairwoman of the board of PJSC "Cherkasyoblenergo," Svitlana Kuzminska. She was sentenced to eight years in prison with a two-year ban on holding relevant positions and the confiscation of half of her property.

In addition, the High Anti-Corruption Court applied special confiscation in the amount of 458 million UAH and partially satisfied the claims for damages. The court's verdict can be appealed within 30 days from the date of its announcement.

According to law enforcement, in 2014-2015, officials of the private company misappropriated funds that were supposed to be transferred to PJSC "Cherkasyoblenergo" and PJSC "Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo." Electricity consumers paid money not directly to the supplier but also to the intermediary company "Energy Network," which was controlled by Kryuchkov. "Energy Network" then settled accounts with the energy companies.

The total losses to the energy supply companies exceed 1.5 billion UAH, of which over 315 million UAH have been compensated during the pre-trial investigation. The High Anti-Corruption Court is also considering another case in which Kryuchkov is a defendant. This case concerns unreceived revenues of PJSC "Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo" and State Enterprise "Energy Market" exceeding 346 million UAH, as added by the Center for Combating Corruption.
