Soldiers who sign the so-called contract for 18-24 year olds will, after undergoing basic military training and combat coordination, serve in the Donetsk region. This was stated in an interview with Oboz.ua by the chief recruiter of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign, Denis Shvydkyi.
"They will serve in the Donetsk region," — said Shvydkyi.
He specified that the basic military training for citizens who sign the relevant contracts will be conducted specifically at the base of the 28th Mechanized Brigade.
"We have advanced courses that are more aligned with NATO standards and closer to combat operations. Then, there is professional training that lasts about a month to a month and a half. After that, the units undergo coordination," — noted Shvydkyi.
The military also explained that during the first year, "contract soldiers" should not expect career advancement, as per the procedure, if a person moves to a squad leader position, it becomes a sergeant role. And a sergeant's contract is signed for three years.
"The only rank they can achieve in a year is the rank of senior soldier," — emphasized Shvydkyi.
At the same time, if within a year a person realizes they want to advance further in military contracted service, then after completing the annual contract, they can continue their service under contract. In such a case, they can extend their contract for another year or sign a sergeant's contract for three years.
According to Denis Shvydkyi, in addition to good financial support and a future annual deferment from mobilization, individuals serving under such a contract will also have many other attractive conditions.
"In particular, benefits and education funded by the state. By the way, this contract provides for rental compensation during the service. If they need to rent a house or an apartment, the government covers all expenses. Plus, after the contract, there will be free medical care and a mortgage at 0 percent," — emphasized Shvydkyi.
Recall that on February 13, Defense Ministry spokesperson Dmytro Lazutkin stated that not all Ukrainians aged 18 to 24 can sign a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
