On the night of February 16, Russian forces deliberately targeted the critical infrastructure of Mykolaiv. An enemy drone damaged the Mykolaiv thermal power plant.
This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"This was done intentionally to leave people without heat in sub-zero temperatures and create a humanitarian disaster," the Prime Minister noted. Currently, 46,000 subscribers are without heating.
The city has set up 67 points of resilience and has begun connecting three modular boiler houses in healthcare facilities.
All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and are doing everything possible to restore heating to homes, schools, and hospitals as quickly as possible.
Background. Earlier, Mind reported that The Air Forces shot down 95 out of 143 enemy drones. As a result of the night attack, Kyiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions were affected.
