A 30-year-old soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, hailing from the Odesa region, engaged in hand-to-hand combat with a Russian, attempting to halt the advance of the Russian Armed Forces in Kurakhove. During the fight, he called for help from his comrade with the call sign "Khaza." The fallen soldier was named Dmytro Maslovskyi. Details about his life and the circumstances of the knife fight were shared on the TCN YouTube channel.
"Let me go peacefully. Don’t touch me," is heard on the video.
In the TCN report, it was mentioned that the Ukrainian, who seemingly perished, was named Dmytro Maslovskyi with the call sign "Kobra." He was 30 years old. The soldier was born in the Odesa region and served in the 71st Airborne Assault Brigade, having gone to war in the initial days of the invasion. The place of his death was the village of Trudove in the Donetsk region. The Russian soldier he fought against was a Yakut from the 39th Guards Brigade.
A fellow soldier of the Ukrainian, who spoke with journalists, explained that the battle took place two months ago, in November 2024. At that time, the village of Trudove played a crucial role in the defense of Kurakhove. The Ukrainian Armed Forces unit was tasked with securing the outskirts of the settlement. Among others, two soldiers were to complete the mission — "Kobra" and another soldier with the call sign "Khaza." They were expected to establish themselves in an observation post and assist another part of the unit. While the main group secured the area and neutralized seven occupiers, "Kobra" and "Khaza" encountered two infantrymen on a motorcycle. One was eliminated, and Dmytro went after the other. Thus, the soldiers split up: one stayed in ambush to monitor the road, while the other searched for the Russian, as explained in the report.
"Kobra ordered him to have Khaza, equipped with specific weaponry, remain to control the thoroughfare. And Kobra moved out himself, drawing on his experience. It was a command decision that deserves respect," stated the comrade.
The report also clarifies that the distance from the hand-to-hand combat location to "Khaza" was about 600 meters, and there was gunfire and explosions all around. It was noted that this soldier survived: he was found alive but severely wounded in a basement and is currently in a hospital.
In broadcasts by Russian media, footage of the murder of the Ukrainian soldier was shown, and they reported on Andrei Grigoriev "Tuta," the Yakut who committed the crime. Russians stated that the soldier has five children, came from Yakutia, located 5,000 kilometers away, and went to fight against Ukrainians. For his crime against the Ukrainian soldier, he has already received congratulations from Russian officials. For instance, the governor of Yakutia presented him with a personalized knife, and President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded him the title of hero.
It should be noted that on November 25, footage of an Ukrainian soldier's battle against six Russians was published on the K2 54th OMBr Facebook page. The video, captured by a drone, showed him sitting in a trench and firing back at a platoon of the Russian Armed Forces.
We remind you that on December 31, UAF fighters expelled Russian and North Korean soldiers from a settlement in the Kursk region.
