The Russian Armed Forces executed a Ukrainian soldier in the Bakhmut direction. This was reported on October 18 by the Office of the Attorney General.
Operational data indicate that the Ukrainian serviceman likely sustained injuries while carrying out a combat mission in the Bakhmut area of Donetsk region. Subsequently, the building was taken under control by the invaders, and the soldier was captured.
However, the Ukrainian soldier was not given a chance to survive until a prisoner exchange. The unarmed serviceman, who was lying on the ground, was shot. According to the prosecutor's office, this occurred around 10:00 AM on September 6 near the "Phenol Plant" in the settlement of New York.
"The killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a serious international crime," the Office of the Attorney General noted.
Law enforcement officials have initiated an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war, in connection with intentional murder.
At the time of publication, Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets had not commented on the situation.
Recall that on October 18, DeepState analysts reported on the advancement of the Russian Armed Forces in two directions in the Donetsk region.
On October 18, the 79th Air Assault Brigade stated that the paratroopers repelled an enemy assault and inflicted losses on Russia. The occupiers launched an offensive with 33 units of armored vehicles, half of which were turned into scrap metal or damaged by the defenders.
