"Discussions are underway": The MP commented on the potential demobilization of soldiers (video).

Member of Parliament from the "Voice" faction, Roman Kostenko, stated that discussions are ongoing in the parliament regarding when it will be possible to demobilize military personnel. The politician shared this information with journalists in the parliament corridors, as reported by Espreso.

According to Kostenko, the main focus of the discussions currently is the duration of service and the effectiveness of the mobilization process itself.

"This is a very complex issue that we have talked about regarding service durations. And given the situation we have, we remember that even the deputy minister who came to the hall mentioned that if we were to set specific durations and allow people to discharge under the current conditions of mobilization, it could lead to a defeat in the war. We all need to understand this," the parliamentarian emphasized.

Kostenko noted that the draft law concerning military service durations highlights the rotation of units on the front lines, while discussions continue on how to approach demobilization.

"The next question is whether any norms are being developed regarding the government's task — yes. We recently met with the committee chairman at the Ministry of Defense, where representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff were present. We specifically discussed this draft law. There, more attention is given to the rotation of units on the front line. Therefore, the main focus is on rotation. As for demobilization, discussions are ongoing," the member of parliament stated.

Earlier, it became known what grounds for deferring or reserving exist during mobilization. A company leader can independently cancel a deferment from mobilization, as stated in the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution.

It was also reported who will not be drafted in 2025. Currently, several categories of citizens are entitled to deferment from military service.
