North Korea is "likely to request" advanced nuclear weapon technologies from Moscow. In exchange for this, the DPRK could agree to send its troops to Russia.
This was stated by South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing CNN.
Kim Yong-hyun emphasized that North Korea will probably demand technology transfers from Russia related to tactical nuclear weapons, the development of North Korean intercontinental ballistic missiles, reconnaissance satellites, and nuclear submarines.
He also noted that he does not believe that the deployment of troops from North Korea to assist Russia will increase the "likelihood of war on the Korean Peninsula," but it could lead to an "escalation of security threats on the Korean Peninsula."
Recall that earlier today, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that the U.S. intends to defend South Korea with all types of weaponry.
Moreover, this extends to nuclear weapons as well.
It is worth noting that as early as the beginning of October, information emerged that Russia is involving North Korean military personnel in the war against Ukraine.
It is known that the DPRK could send up to 12,000 soldiers to Russia, some of whom are planned to be stationed in the Kursk region.
However, Austin emphasized that Russia will not be able to defeat Ukraine even with the support of the DPRK.
