Business lending is on the rise in Ukraine.

The volume of net hryvnia loans for small and medium-sized enterprises increased by 22.1% over the past year.

The head of the National Bank of Ukraine noted that the volume of hryvnia loans for small and medium-sized enterprises increased by 22.1% over the past year, while the volume of net hryvnia loans to individuals rose by 39.9%.

This was reported by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshny.

“Lending. Here, banks have exceeded all expectations at the start of 2024. Over the year, the growth in the volume of loans for business was 20.6%. Net hryvnia loans for SMEs grew somewhat faster – by 22.1% over the year. Their share in the net hryvnia loan portfolio for businesses increased to 60.2%,” said the head of the National Bank.

He added that net hryvnia loans for businesses have been growing for a year and a half consecutively. At the same time, the share of loans under the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” program decreased to 33.7% in the net hryvnia portfolio of businesses over the year.

The share of hryvnia loans with a repayment term of more than three years, according to Pyshny, rose to 25.2%, and their annual volume increased by 58%.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that the “5-7-9%” lending program is narrowing: now only 7 out of 10 loans are issued. The changes are related to fulfilling obligations to international financial institutions.
