Meteorologists have shared the weather forecast for tomorrow. Valentine's Day in Ukraine will delight lovers with true winter weather. This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on February 13.
"In the coming hours, the synoptic situation will change: cold air will begin to retreat eastward, while a warmer air mass from Western Europe will move into Ukraine, resulting in a rise in temperatures across most regions, especially at night," the press service noted.
On February 14, Ukraine will experience cloudy skies. Light snow is expected in the northern regions, as well as in Vinnytsia and Cherkasy oblasts. In the western regions, there will be snow mixed with rain.
In the west, temperatures will range from 0 to -5 degrees at night and from 0 to +5 during the day. In other regions, nighttime temperatures will be between -3 and -8 degrees, with the coldest conditions in the east, reaching down to -13. During the day, thermometers will show between -2 and +3 degrees, with only the southern regions being warmer at 4-9 degrees above zero.
In the west, as well as in some northern areas, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy oblasts, ice is predicted. Winds will be coming from the southwest at 7-12 m/s.
In Kyiv and the surrounding area on February 14, it will also be cloudy. No precipitation is expected at night, but light wet snow will fall during the day. The wind will be southwest at 7-12 m/s. There may be icy conditions on the roads.
In the region, nighttime temperatures will range from -3 to -8 degrees, while daytime temperatures will be between -2 and +3. In the capital, nighttime temperatures will vary from -5 to -7, and during the day, from 0 to +2 degrees.
Meteorologist Natalia Didenko warned on February 13 about changes in the weather across Ukraine.
"An atmospheric front with snow and lingering nighttime frosts will arrive, but with a brief daytime warming and thaw! It will be beautiful," she cautioned.
However, the expert warned that due to the weather changes, people sensitive to meteorological shifts might experience exacerbations of cardiovascular and bronchopulmonary diseases. According to her, headaches, fluctuations in blood pressure, and drowsiness may occur.
"But! First of all, it will still be beautiful, and secondly, it's good for farmers and gardeners, as well as for the vegetation and the environment, which has been longing for snow," Didenko noted.
According to her forecast, February 14 will still be relatively warm in Ukraine, as daytime temperatures are expected to be above zero. A cold atmospheric front from the northwest will bring snow, but only to certain regions.
However, by Saturday, heavy precipitation is expected: in the east, south, and center—snow or wet snow, and in the south—snow mixed with rain.
"Starting this weekend, cold frosty weather will return to Ukraine. A weakening of the cold, according to preliminary forecasts that will need clarification, may occur after February 25," the meteorologist added.
