At around 04:00 in Sumy, a series of powerful explosions were reported by local channels. Monitoring groups warned of a drone threat approaching from the eastern part of the region, heading towards the city.

Shortly after, the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, reported on the initial consequences of the nighttime attack.

According to him, there are damages to a multi-story residential building as a result of the strikes on the city. Initially, there was information about one injured person, but after some time, Kobzar announced that at least two individuals were injured due to the nighttime attack in Sumy.

"A lot of windows in the apartment building have been blown out," said Artem Kobzar.

Currently, emergency services have arrived at the site of the enemy shelling. The State Emergency Service is operating, along with the police. The acting city head also mentioned that an emergency response headquarters will be set up in Sumy today.

Both injured individuals, known at this time, are receiving medical assistance.

Meanwhile, drone activity is still being detected in Ukrainian airspace, and the attack is ongoing. Around 05:30 in Sumy, the sounds of explosions were heard again—likely from the operation of the air defense system.

Recall that yesterday, on February 24, the Ukrainian Air Forces calculated the total number of enemy aerial targets that have been shot down by the Armed Forces over the three years of full-scale war.
