Ryepka published a screenshot of a video that appeared on the Telegram channel of Z-war correspondents from Russia. The video features Russian Armed Forces soldiers who allegedly planted a flag in the village of Pogrebki in the Sudzha district of the Kursk region. The observer noted that the Russians are boasting about a victory that was achieved by dropping a 500-kilogram bomb on a local school and fighting for six months. On the map of combat operations, Ryepka marked the village and the front line, which has "bent" and runs further south.
From the logo in the screenshot, one can see what has been said about Pogrebki in Russian military social media. In one of them, they boast about the "successes" of the Russian 34th Brigade and the 1st Battalion of the 9th Motorized Rifle Regiment, which managed to infiltrate the destroyed village. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense is not in a hurry to report on any advances: Pogrebki is not mentioned in the reports for February 25.
Meanwhile, analysts from the DeepState project show the village of Pogrebok as territory under Ukrainian control. Similar markings on the combat operations map from "Radio Liberty" indicate that on February 22, the Russians began to attack this settlement.
In reports from the Ukrainian command, it is noted that in the Kursk direction, as of the morning of February 23, the Russians dropped 45 aerial bombs and conducted 19 assaults. As of the morning of February 25, there were 43 airstrikes and 11 attacks. The combat operations map shows that the Russian Armed Forces initially attacked the protrusion near Pogrebki from below — from the eastern and western flanks. After that, frontal assaults on the village began, where approximately 226 people lived before the war. The military has not reported on the loss of this settlement.
It is worth noting that on February 23, military expert Yevgeny Diky explained how the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain the front line in the Kursk region. According to him, this is achieved through "maneuver warfare" and the absence of a defined and clear front line. In the opinion of the former military officer, the Ukrainians have managed to impose a type of warfare on the Russians that is favorable for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: one without trenches and frontal assaults.
We remind you that on February 22, Senior Sergeant of the Communications Department of the 80th Airborne Assault Brigade, Petr Haidashchuk, spoke about a successful special operation by the Defense Forces, which neutralized a unit of North Korean soldiers near Kursk.
