An explosion occurred in a hotel in Lviv, resulting in injuries.

A blast occurred at a hotel near the center of Lviv. As a result of the incident, a man was injured.

This is reported by the press service of the Lviv regional police.

According to law enforcement, around midnight on February 2, the police received a report of an explosion on Hordotska Street at one of the hotels in Lviv. Investigative teams and staff from other services of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, as well as explosives experts from the Lviv regional police, arrived at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a 44-year-old resident of Lviv threw an unknown explosive device while on the third floor of the hotel. As a result of the explosion, the man sustained injuries and was hospitalized. The blast wave damaged the windows and doors of the establishment.

Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement is determining the circumstances of the explosion and the origin of the explosive device.

Reports online indicate that the incident took place at the "Arena" hotel on Hordotska Street. The man allegedly detonated a grenade in the hotel.
