An organized group of recidivists held criminal meetings (gatherings) in the Mykolaiv pre-trial detention center and engaged in extortion.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv regional prosecutor's office.
Indictments have been sent to court against eight individuals who have previously been convicted multiple times. It is noted that during the gatherings, the participants engaged in extortion.
“An indictment has been submitted to the court against eight individuals with multiple prior convictions, who, acting as part of an organized group, facilitated the conduct of criminal meetings (gatherings) in the State Institution 'Mykolaiv Pre-Trial Detention Center' and directly participated in these criminal assemblies, during which, among other things, they unjustifiably demanded monetary funds from other individuals held in custody in this institution (under Part 1 of Article 255-2, Part 2 of Article 255-1, and Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding the spread of criminal influence and the conduct of criminal gatherings),” the statement said.
