On January 3 and during the night of January 4, 11 fires were recorded in the Mykolaiv region, with 9 occurring in residential areas and 2 on vehicles.

In the village of Lyubino in the Bashtanka district, a residential house was on fire. Firefighters from the 24th State Fire and Rescue Unit extinguished the blaze, which covered an area of 80 square meters. During the firefighting efforts, the body of a deceased man born in 1965 was found at the scene.
In the city of Yuzhnoukrainsk in the Voznesensk district, an apartment on the 4th floor of a nine-story residential building caught fire. Neighbors rescued a man born in 1955 and a woman born in 1962. Before the fire department arrived, the neighbors had managed to extinguish the fire using water.
In Mykolaiv, a fire broke out in a waste collection room of a nine-story residential building. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, which covered an area of 10 square meters. Due to heavy smoke on the upper floors, 8 people were evacuated, including one child.
In most cases, the causes of the fires are being established. Employees of Mykolaivoblenergo, medical personnel, and police were also involved.
In total, 26 firefighters and 8 units of special equipment were deployed by the State Emergency Service.
