On Wednesday, January 8, law enforcement in Mykolaiv apprehended a driving instructor for bribery.
This information was reported by the police and the prosecutor's office of the Mykolaiv region.
The 57-year-old suspect demanded and received 14,000 hryvnias from a driving school student in exchange for facilitating a favorable decision from officials at the territorial service center regarding the practical exam for obtaining a category "B" driver's license.
It is noted that the driving instructor demanded 14,000 hryvnias for assisting in the unobstructed acquisition of a driver's license.
The man was detained while receiving the agreed-upon amount of illicit gain under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and law enforcement officials informed him of the suspicion.
Currently, the question of selecting a measure for the suspect is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region, with operational support from the Mykolaiv Department of the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine.
The suspect faces up to eight years of imprisonment with the confiscation of property.
