In Mykolaiv, up to 50% of the initial mortgage payment may be compensated from the city budget: who is eligible

A decision has been made in Mykolaiv regarding the potential compensation of part of the initial mortgage payment under the "ЄOselya" program.

The relevant program received support from deputies during the session meeting on October 30.

According to Sergey Vasylenko, the head of the social protection department, up to 50% of the initial payment for housing purchase can be compensated from the city budget, but not exceeding 200,000 hryvnias.

The program is planned for the years 2025-2027. Compensation can be received by military personnel, law enforcement officers, education workers, healthcare professionals, and scientists. These categories of citizens can also obtain a mortgage for housing purchase at a preferential rate of 3% through the state program.

- We planned a sum of two million hryvnias for each year, but the budget committee proposed to increase the amount fivefold. Therefore, there will be 10 million for each year — a total of 30 million over three years, - Vasylenko summarized.

The mayor, Alexander Senkevich, expressed the opinion that "it's a good idea, but where will we get the money."

The head of the budget committee, Fedor Panchenko, also added that deputies made another amendment: the housing for which compensation is paid must be located within the Mykolaiv community.

As a result, both the program and the proposed amendments were supported by the deputies.
