In Kyiv, the subway will now announce a nationwide moment of silence every day at 9 AM, honoring the memory of fallen defenders and civilians of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration on Wednesday, February 19.
The announcement will be broadcast at 19 subway stations where it is technically feasible.
Subsequently, the corresponding announcement will also be made in the cabins of buses, trolleybuses, and trams. Ground public transport will not stop for the moment of silence, but the message will be played between 8:50 and 9:00 while the transport is at a stop. In places where technical capabilities for broadcasting are unavailable, informational materials will remind passengers about the moment of silence.
Additionally, the city plans to reach out to the owners of advertising screens located in the subway, requesting them to broadcast information about the moment of silence. Relevant notifications can also be received through the "Kyiv Digital" mobile application.
We remind you that on February 11, information appeared on the unofficial page of "Kyivpastrans" stating that public transport will be halted during the nationwide moment of silence.
On February 12, the KCSA denied this information and stated that the nationwide moment of silence would be observed in the capital's transport, but it would be done in a different manner.
