In the battle for Ukraine, the beloved brother of activist Roman Ratushny lost his life.

On the front lines, during a combat mission, the older brother of activist Roman Ratushny, Vasily Ratushny, was killed. He served as a drone operator.

According to RBK-Ukraine, his mother, Svetlana Povalyaeva, announced the death of the soldier on Facebook.

"On the night of March 27, 2025, during a combat mission, the UAV pilot of the Ptiс Madyar, Vasily Ratushny, died from a direct hit. My eldest son, my life," his mother wrote.

It is worth noting that on June 9, 2022, during a combat mission near Izyum, his younger brother Roman was killed. From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, he defended Kyiv, and later, as a scout of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar," he liberated Trostianets and fought in the Sumy region and near Izyum.

In memory of Roman Ratushny, the Kyiv City Council renamed Volgograd Street near Protasov Yar to Roman Ratushny Street.

Both brothers were active participants in the Revolution of Dignity.
