Early in the morning on October 22, a "Carpet" plan was implemented at Nizhny Novgorod Airport in Russia. The airport ceased to accept and dispatch flights, likely due to drone activity.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Russian Telegram channels.
Specifically, a flight that was scheduled to arrive from Kaliningrad was redirected to Moscow. The airport was closed for departures and arrivals, with reports indicating that this started around 5 AM. According to the Telegram channel Baza, the restrictions were in place until 06:05, but operations were suspended until approximately 7 AM.
Several other channels mentioned that preliminary information suggested the restrictions were related to a drone attack threat.
The flight restrictions were confirmed by Rosaviatsiya, although no reasons were provided. About an hour ago, they announced that the restrictions had been lifted.
Recall that on the night of October 22, unknown drones attacked Yefremov in the Tula region of Russia. According to local residents, the attacks targeted a synthetic rubber plant, leading to a fire. Additionally, Russians speculated that drones fell near a local CHPP. Authorities claimed that the premises of the Yefremov distillery and another distillery in the village of Luzhkovsky in the Suvorovsky district were damaged.
Also, closer to morning, it was reported online that as a result of the night drone attack, an explosion followed by a fire occurred at the "Biokhim" facility in the Tambov region. Furthermore, an industrial facility in the Voronezh region also caught fire.
