The Cabinet of Ministers has made the necessary decisions for signing an agreement with the United States regarding the establishment of rules and conditions for the Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The agreement will consist of six key points:
“As a result of signing the agreement, Ukraine will gain a dual benefit – we attract American investments and technologies for the reconstruction of Ukraine, while accumulating resources for the implementation of strategic projects for the welfare of every Ukrainian,” said the Prime Minister.
According to Shmyhal, after revisions, the agreement has become “significantly better”: it excluded clauses regarding a $500 billion debt to the USA and the obligation for Ukraine to repay $2 for every dollar of American aid received.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that journalists published the final text of the agreement on mineral resources between Ukraine and the United States. One of the points involves a link to security guarantees – the agreement is part of the security architecture, including support for Ukraine's NATO membership or alternative guarantees.
