The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated 1.6 billion UAH for school buses and permitted communities to purchase generators for schools.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this during a government meeting.
“We are directing 1.6 billion UAH for the acquisition of approximately 460 school buses. This will ensure transportation for about 30,000 students to educational institutions,” he noted.
According to Shmyhal, the procedure for providing state subsidies to communities for creating a safe educational environment has also been modified.
“Now these funds can be used not only for equipping shelters but also for purchasing generators for schools,” he stated.
The head of the government emphasized that the state aims for as many children as possible to study in an offline format.
According to him, last year, thanks to the government policy “School Offline,” over 100,000 children were able to return to educational institutions.
Background. Previously, Mind reported that the government allocated over 2.6 billion UAH provided by the European Commission to ensure food for children in schools.
